Description
Axis Mundi designs Morphed Sheds for Cape Cod Museum of Art.
The design is based on a branching pattern of interconnected and morphed cedar clad sheds. The design yields an innovative and understated approach that nestles harmoniously with the New England landscape.
Branching patterns occur in nature all around us. Many natural systems, especially those involving liquids, have branching patterns. Examples of branching patterns include river systems, electrical dissipation, and plants. Our own blood travels in a branching pattern of arteries and veins. Branching patterns are a conduit for flows of many kinds.
Materials: Low-cost industrial steel shed construction, glass, poured concrete floors, and untreated cedar siding.
