Description
Considering the site and needs of the station to develop form would establish a rational design, but I want to create a connection with how the users might use the station is a different way. Creating a form for the path led to the idea of having a walk profile for the geometry of the path, but which walk should be used? To create a connection from the path forms to the station I decided to choose three of the destinations of London Bridge Station, and take one of the nice hill walks within the area of that destination. The there is chose were Brighton, Tonbridge and Hastings.

  • Preliminary task to choose three films, and then pick characters from each of those films to create our own script. A further development was to create a link from each character and their personality to the site using a variety of methods.


    LONDON BRIDGE STATION

    In the project brief the site area for development of our architectural proposals was to be in the area of Borough Market.
    From the early design methods already carried out, it seemed clear that the design would be in some way linked with train travel, so the best solution was to choose London Bridge station which was next to Borough Market.
    The station is ideal solution, it has many interesting aspect to it, being the oldest commuter station in London. Brick vaulting connecting the Railtrack mainline station to the Underground tube trains of the jubilee line and northern line.
    The rhythm of light passing through the site is what initially drew to developing a proposal there.
