    the location
The plot is located on the city block to the north of the Coliseum, which is used at the time as a soccer field, as well as a shed for the neighbors.

    the concept
The vertical spa is situated next to Coloseum at the very prominet place to become a new landmark of Rome. The shape of the building is derived from the Roman architecture symbol - classical fluted column /capital-shaft-base/. The base comes from the fluid form of water as a symbol of the spa in general.  Visitors have an access to the building via ramps. The longest one could be used by disabled people. Staff has an access from the parking area level.
  • the challenge
    - to bring a new element to the city - a hundred meter high tower, next to the Coliseum
    - it would present Romes complexity by being a vertical Rome
    - it should be an interest target and necessary visit for the city visitors
    - the volume must relate harmoniously with its context, considering the historic surroundings nearby, but also being unique and original- the views must be provided to  San Pedro in Vincoli,  Parco di Traiano, the Colosseum, Piazza del Campidoglio y el Monumento Nazionale a Vittorio Emanuele IIthe program
100m high SPA – in Latin “salute per aquam” (health through water)

    the program
100m high SPA – in Latin “salute per aquam” (health through water)
the SPA shall count with a basic program that will occupy less than 4,000m2 areas
There are entrance hall with reception, short course and heated pools,  dressing rooms with the lockers placed  in the „base “part of the building. Each floor of the „shaft“ part consists of the same program for spa:saunas, massage rooms, rest areas, tubs, baths, cafeterias and skybar. All typical floors are designed as open space.  Each segment of the floorplan has different use and is marked with a different color of the floor and ceiling. The top of the building /capital/ is occupied with the skybar and the garden.
