Within the suburban Phoenix fabric of "little pink houses" sits the Black House. This home renovation is the product of a bold client. The homes color provides the backdrop to the exterior material palette of rusted metal and deep green, geometric landscaping.
The project consisted of a full makeover (including the front, back and interior) from a typical "little pink house" to a modern work of architecture with bold street appeal, comfortable back yard living space and an interior unfettered by superfluous walls. The result is an open interior where the space flows freely from one function to another including the outdoor living area. The interior palette consists of warm colors and comfortable materials with clean lines. Etched glass implies a division of space, light and mirror are integrated into one, warm grey porcelain floors combine with smooth white walls to create a backdrop for furniture.
The Black House stands apart, with purpose, from its neighbors; a tribute to Mr. Plumbeans neighborhood (Google it).
