    Home of the San Francisco Planning & Urban Research Association
  • The SPUR Urban Center is home to the San Francisco Planning and Research Association, a renowned public policy organization and community that since it’s inception in the 1950’s had gone without a public street presence. In addition to replacing SPUR’s previous office space, the new Urban Center also provides much needed additional floor area for gallery and public meeting spaces. Located in the heart of downtown San Francisco this new structure expresses SPUR’s ideals of transparency, integrity, illumination and watchfulness.

    Size: 14,600 square feet
    Stories: 4 floors above grade + 1 basement floor
    Construction Cost: $8,500,000
    Completion: April 2009

    Role on the Project
    Took over project management during the construction documents phase, completed drawings & specifications and obtained permits.
    Shepherded the project through bidding and value engineering including various design and detailing adjustments to reduce overall project costs by roughly $1,000,000.
    Handled construction administration through project completion.
    Produced LEED certification documents.
