The restrained yet striking design of these buildings, that seem to have been placed on a raised platform and are clearly visible from a distance, is convincing. This is how the authors solved the requirement for a cultural centre that would be clearly visible and have an impressive appearance but neverthless blend in with the smaller structures in the vicinity. Two buildings, of dif-fering shapes and with a strong three-dimensional effect, house the two main elements - concert hall and exhibition rooms. Several jury members commented that the tent style had probably been chosen as a reminder of the former temporary premises.
