The main concept is the naturalization of the Library. Inside an urban surrounding of big gray scale, an introspected library is sought, looking towards green patios connected to a series of spatial platforms which mark a three-dimensional sequence which defines the library.
The patios and terraces become vision spaces of green areas, as continuity of the interior reading places in the Library for adults as well as for children. In this way, and during some periods of the year with the glass windows open, the user will have the feeling of being outside. Apart from the relationship with the outside of the patios, the transparent façade of the building, it has particular transparent points of vision and communication with the surroundings; framed and specific images of the city. We have always proposed that the ground floor is an organization of the programme horizontally, but it is the section the one that constructs the space, setting single and double heights and it is always the light, which qualifies the architecture.
In the Library the natural light is the protagonist. The façades in white U-glass flood the building with a soft light, especially adequate for reading. At the same time, light arrives from the patios, treated with transparent glass and allowing the enjoyment of the green areas. At night, the Library is a box of light, an urban torch.
