Bachelor project 2011 - This project is an extension to The Danish Police Museum in Copenhagen. Located in the city centre almost not noticeable. The context communitaces backyard aestethics and different scales. Working with an existing space, it was important to start within this program and change it. Registrations and obersvations of how the space has a curiosity and always hints of a new room, gave inspiration to work with delayed space as a generator for the new plan. This has developed a plan that communicates this languagae but in the same way is areal effective. The shape of the building has been a constant dialogue with the given space, context and the plan.
The project has evolved from a conversation between inside and outside, the volume is an interaction between areal and spatial idea. The materiality both responds and shares feautures with the context. One can summarize by saying that the building both interpret and acquire the site and museum, but with its form and materiality will create a new experience of this backyard space in Copenhagen.
