New Buesa Arena Vitoria-Gasteiz

This is an amazing new Arena that is being built for the Baskonia basketball team in Vitoria-Gasteiz. In its origins this building was used for animals fairs and interchanges between farmers. In 80´s its use changed for becoming a new basketball arena. In the middle 90´s in other to take more people the current dome was rised more or less keeping the same look just getting a higher arena than the previous one. The new change made possible to take many new events on it, such as concerts, meetings and another ones further more basketball matches. After this increasing of its size the arena arrived to the amount of 9.000 spectator. Nowadays this amount was not enough for the necessity of the city, not even for one of the best Euroleague basketball teams. The new arena will have 15.000 chairs in order to held Fiba´s Final Four and some other great meeting.

Taking into consideration the architecture , it is going to be a really huge construction, more linked with engineering than with architecture in some points. Current dome will be taked off and moved away to another position in the parking that surrounds the arena. After rising hight with the new dome it will be at 32.35 m. Higher than that are going to be three dimensional towers until arriving to 48.00 meters hight. Inside the building a new ring is going to be buildt beggining from 15.07 till 26.86. All in all , inside area will be bigger but that does mean that it would be colder just the opposite it will be full of 15.000 spectators cheering their team with an atonising atmosphere.
