3 Double Family Houses | Weiden, Germany
Info
Description
Design and detailing of facade composition for a housing unit in Weiden, Germany, in 2007, by the Berlin based office W+W gesellschaft von architekten.
The three house facades share the same composition grid, revealed by the alternation of wood elements, windows and phantom windows, unifying the three houses albeit their unique variations.
The horizontal elements (drip caps and window sills) are intended to protect the wooden sheathing at the tops, where it's more prone to absorb humidity.
